Why Medigap and Not Med Advantage?

  • No network restrictions. With Medigap, you are not limited by local HMO/PPO networks. You have access to the best physicians & facilities in the country.
  • No preauthorizations
  • No referrals
  • Eliminate high co-pays and deductibles
  • By law, Medigap plans have to pay anything Original Medicare approves, so you don't have to fight with insurance companies for necessary services to be covered.

Medigap plans are guaranteed issue when turning 65, and many seniors miss the opportunity to get them after this important birthday.

Doctors can and have opted out of MedAdvantage networks mid-year, so if maintaining continuity of care is important, Medigap should strongly be considered.

Finally, Medigap plans provide certainty when health concerns arise, and this is invaluable. I have both of my parents on Medigap plans and would never consider switching them to MedAdvantage (Part C)

Medicare Advantage: No More

Former Cigna and Humana VP Wendell Potter speaks out about the pitfalls to Medicare Advantage (Part C). He details how this program has become the biggest transfer of wealth from low/middle-income taxpayers to Corporate Executives & Shareholders. Congressman Mark Pocan also shares how Medicare Advantage providers use deceptive advertising to lure seniors into plans with high out-of-pocket expenses and inadequate networks.
